Overview:
Travel Quest is an unreleased casual mobile title from Gameskraft that follows a traveler’s journey across different countries. Each level unlocks a new destination, where players can explore five unique attractions or landmarks and discover their history through engaging mini-games. Progression is tied to collecting coins, which are earned through a slot-based system, allowing players to gradually unlock attractions and advance through the world.
Process:
I was involved in this project from the conceptualization of the mascot. I collaborated with the character designer to create the new identity of the mascot which aligned with the brand. I was also closely in contact with the copywriter as part of the scripting, making sure the script brings out and enhances his persona.
A lot of research was done also, as the script involved mostly busy streets, to make sure that all road safety rules and regulations were followed, and also to make the layout look as relatable as possible.
Storyboarding the video was next.
Storyboards:
Rigging:
Rigging was initially a challenge, as I had just two weeks to build an industry-level rig. I explored every possible approach, researched templates, and pushed myself to meet the deadline. In the end, I delivered a solid, fully usable rig that I was proud to have completed on time.
Process:
Animation:
I took the initial storyboard and brought it to life as a fully animated sequence, carefully shaping the flow so the visual narrative aligned with the brand’s identity. I focused on achieving fluid character motion and realistic timing, paying close attention to small details that made the performance feel natural. This process not only strengthened the storytelling but also elevated the overall impact of the animation.
