Overview:
Travel Quest is an unreleased casual mobile title from Gameskraft that follows a traveler’s journey across different countries. Each level unlocks a new destination, where players can explore five unique attractions or landmarks and discover their history through engaging mini-games. Progression is tied to collecting coins, which are earned through a slot-based system, allowing players to gradually unlock attractions and advance through the world.
Process:
I was part of this project right from storyboarding the video idea, working closely with the copywriter to align with their vision while also bringing some of my own ideas to the table. Once the concept was sketched out on paper, or in this case, in Photoshop, I moved on to building the assets. Stepping beyond animation, I took on modeling, texturing, and layout, something that was new and challenging for me, but with my team’s support I was able to push my skill set further.
Storyboards:
Modelling:
Since the project’s theme centered around high rewards, the environment was designed to feel more royal and grand. I created a lavish room to reflect royalty, followed by a stage and auditorium setup that emphasized scale and grandeur. Modeling and texturing something of this scope was a new challenge for me, but with the technical and moral support of my team, I was able to create an outcome I’m truly proud of.
Animation:
From there it was back to familiar ground, animating the assets and camera, and applying lighting techniques I had practiced on smaller projects. The final video was then polished by the motion design team, who added the lettering, 2D elements, and final color tuning to complete the piece.
